1. Categories always excluded
In short No alcohol, no tobacco or vaping, no gambling: that's the site's rule.
Leg Up accepts no campaign for:
- alcohol (the French Évin law);
- tobacco and vaping;
- gambling and betting.
This is the site's rule, whatever the race and even if a runner would accept it. These categories are not among the sectors a brand can choose.
2. Content we refuse
In short Nothing unlawful, hateful, sexual, shocking or misleading.
Whatever the brand, Leg Up refuses any tattoo, campaign or message that is:
- unlawful (counterfeit, banned product, infringing other people's rights);
- hateful or discriminatory;
- sexual;
- violent or shocking;
- misleading, about the product or about the terms offered to runners.
Leg Up may also refuse: [TO BE COMPLETED].
3. Runners' choices
In short Each runner picks the sectors they don't want, and never receives campaigns from them.
Each brand states its sector. In "My details", each runner can refuse one or more sectors from: sports gear, sports nutrition, soft drinks, food, fast food, fashion, fast fashion, tech, crypto, energy, fossil fuels, banking and insurance, health, media, travel, mobility, other.
A runner never receives an offer from a brand in a sector they refuse. So state your sector accurately.
4. Race rules
In short Some races protect their sponsors or ban advertising: Leg Up takes this into account.
Big races sometimes sell exclusive rights to their sponsors, and some race rules restrict or ban advertising worn by runners.
- For each race, Leg Up notes the body zones and brand sectors its rules forbid, and sums up what the rules say about advertising on the race page.
- Campaign targeting takes these rules into account.
- You remain responsible for following the rules of the race you target, including its sponsors' exclusive rights.
5. How Leg Up checks
In short Moderation, reports from runners, and measures that always come with a reason.
- The Leg Up team can review any campaign, before or after it opens.
- Runners can report a campaign: against the charter, from an excluded category, misleading or shocking.
- Leg Up can pause a campaign, stop it (you are then refunded in full, fees included) or block a brand.
- Every decision comes with a reason. It is sent to you by notification and email, and you can reply to dispute it.
The details are in the terms of sale for brands.
