1. Scope
In short These terms cover the campaigns you buy on Leg Up, business to business.
Leg Up is published by Leg Up, [FORME JURIDIQUE, CAPITAL, RCS, SIREN], with its registered office at [ADRESSE]. EU VAT number: [N° TVA].
These terms of sale apply to every campaign ordered on legup.run by a brand acting for its business. They complete the terms of use and the accepted brands page. The version that applies to a campaign is the one in force when it is paid for.
Leg Up is a go-between: it connects your brand with runners, holds the campaign budget and pays it out on proof. Leg Up does not organise races.
2. The campaign is your order
In short Your order is the campaign: it is placed when you pay for it.
- You prepare the campaign as a draft: race, filters, body zone, pay per runner, optional post, maximum and minimum number of runners, sign-up deadline, selection mode and tattoo delivery mode. The summary shows the maximum budget before you pay.
- You also choose how runners' photos may be used (period and media) and can add special clauses to the campaign contract (see Runners' photos).
- The order is placed when you pay that budget: the campaign opens and matching runners are notified. Its contract no longer changes.
- On the sign-up deadline (15 days before the race by default), the campaign is confirmed if the minimum number of runners is reached, and cancelled otherwise.
- You can cancel the campaign up to its deadline, except while Leg Up has paused it.
3. Prices
In short You pay the runners' pay, plus a 20% commission and delivery if you choose it. VAT only applies to Leg Up's fees.
The price of a place is made up of:
- the runner's pay, which you set in the campaign. The campaign is only offered to runners whose asking price for the zone is equal or lower; each selected runner receives this pay in full;
- the post fee, if you ask for a post, on the same principle;
- Leg Up's commission: 20% of the runner's pay (post fee included), paid by you on top;
- home delivery of the tattoos, if you choose it: €3 excl. VAT per runner;
- VAT at 20%, on Leg Up's fees only (commission and delivery).
Example: €25 pay and a €6 post, with home delivery. The runner gets €31. You pay €31 + €6.20 commission excl. VAT + €3 delivery excl. VAT + €1.84 VAT, so €42.04 for the place.
The rates in force when a campaign is created are frozen for the whole campaign.
4. Payment
In short You pay the maximum budget at launch; Leg Up holds it until the proofs come in.
- You pay the campaign's maximum budget (all places) at launch, by card or by another method offered on Stripe Checkout, the payment page of our provider Stripe.
- Leg Up never sees your card or bank details: they stay with Stripe.
- The campaign opens as soon as the payment is confirmed. Until then, it stays a draft.
- Leg Up holds the budget (Stripe Connect) until the race. A runner's pay is released when their proof is approved; whatever is not owed to them is refunded to you (see Refunds).
5. Refunds
In short Whatever is not owed to runners comes back to you, Leg Up's fees included.
You are refunded, Leg Up's fees included:
- the whole budget, if the campaign is cancelled (by you, by Leg Up, or because the minimum was not reached);
- the places left empty when the campaign is confirmed;
- a place whose proof is finally rejected or never sent, or whose runner did not start or dropped out;
- a place freed by a withdrawal that nobody took over.
Refunds go out automatically, to the payment method used, and come with a credit note.
6. Invoices and credit notes
In short An invoice for each payment, a credit note for each refund, in your account.
Each payment comes with an invoice, each refund with a credit note. They are numbered in sequence, with no gaps, in the format LU-YYYY-NNNN (for example LU-2026-0001). You will find them under "Invoices" in your brand account, and can print them to PDF from your browser.
Invoices are kept for 10 years, even after your account is deleted.
7. Proof approval
In short You have 5 days to approve or reject a proof; with no answer, it is approved.
- After the race, each selected runner has 7 days to send their proof: a photo of the tattoo with their bib number readable, taken on race day, plus the link to the post if you asked for one.
- You have 5 days to approve or reject it. With no answer, it is approved automatically and the pay is released.
- A rejection always comes with a reason. The runner then has 5 days to send another photo or dispute the rejection with Leg Up.
- Leg Up settles disputes. Its decision is final on the platform.
- These are the default deadlines: Leg Up can adjust them for a campaign, and your campaign's deadlines are shown on its tracking page.
8. Your commitments
In short Accurate information, a lawful design you hold the rights to, and respect for race rules.
You agree to:
- give accurate information about your brand, its sector and your campaigns;
- provide a lawful tattoo design, in line with the accepted brands page;
- hold the rights to your logo and design. You allow Leg Up to reproduce them to print the tattoos, and to display them on the site for your campaigns and your profile;
- never launch a campaign for an excluded category, nor work around the sectors runners refuse;
- follow the rules of the races you target, including their sponsors' exclusive rights;
- for pick-up, give an accurate address, dates and times, and have the tattoos ready there;
- review proofs in good faith and treat runners with respect, in campaign messages and elsewhere.
9. Tattoo delivery
In short Delivered at home or picked up from you: runners see the mode before they commit.
You choose the delivery mode when you create the campaign. It is shown in the offer before runners commit.
- Home delivery: the tattoos are posted to each selected runner's address, for €3 excl. VAT per runner.
- Pick-up by the runner: you give an address, dates and times; runners come and collect their tattoos.
A race-day hand-out of the tattoos by Leg Up, as a paid option, is planned but not yet offered. These terms will be updated when it is.
When a runner from the waiting list replaces one who withdrew, you are told they need their tattoos.
10. Moderation
In short Leg Up can pause or stop a campaign, or block a brand, and always gives its reason.
Leg Up moderates the platform. Runners can report a campaign offered to them, including a contract with unfair clauses.
- Pausing a campaign (terms against the charter, brand unreachable, reports): it disappears from new offers, runners can no longer commit and its message thread becomes read-only. The deadline keeps running.
- Stopping a campaign, before the race (excluded category, terms against the charter, fraud): it is cancelled and you are refunded in full, fees included.
- Blocking the brand (abusive proof rejections, terms not respected, fraud): you can no longer launch campaigns, your running campaigns are paused and your public profile is hidden. Runners already committed see it through and are paid from the budget already held; you can still approve proofs, but no longer reject them.
Every decision comes with a reason and is sent to you by notification and email. You can reply to dispute it, and Leg Up can lift the measure.
11. Runners' photos
In short Each runner accepts your campaign's contract: you choose in it how long and on which media you may use the photos, and can add your own clauses.
- Before committing, each runner accepts the campaign contract: Leg Up's generic contract, filled in with your campaign's details. You accept it by launching the campaign. You can read it, and the one each runner accepted, from the campaign's page.
- A photo from a runner's gallery taken at a race where they wore your tattoo (approved proof) appears in the campaign gallery of your profile, for as long as they keep it visible.
- You may use the photos from the race showing your tattoo (proof photos and photos from the runner's gallery) for the period chosen when you created the campaign (6, 12, 24 or 36 months from the race), on the media you ticked: social media, website and emails, printed media, paid advertising. No editing beyond cropping and lighting, and never the runner's surname without their written consent. After that period, no new posts; what you have already posted on your social media may stay there.
- You can add special clauses, in French, in English or both (2,000 characters per language). Runners see them as such, and they can neither take away any of the runners' rights nor contradict the generic contract or the terms of use. Leg Up can pause a campaign with unfair clauses.
- A runner can hide or delete their photos, and Leg Up can remove a shocking or off-topic photo.
12. Runners' data
In short A runner's address is only for getting your campaign's tattoos to them.
- You only receive a runner's postal address for a campaign they take part in: once the campaign is confirmed, and if the tattoos are sent to their home.
- You only use it for that campaign: no marketing, no resale, no other use. You don't keep it longer than needed.
- You never see runners' sports profile, date of birth or training runs: your filters use them without showing them to you.
What Leg Up does with data is described in the privacy policy.
13. Liability
In short Leg Up connects you with runners and holds the money; it does not guarantee your campaign's visibility or results.
- Leg Up is a go-between. It does not organise races and is not answerable for how they are run or for their organisers' decisions. Race cancelled or postponed: [CONSEQUENCES TO BE DEFINED].
- Leg Up does not guarantee the number of runners who sign up, the visibility of the tattoo or the results of the campaign. Runners' follower counts are declared by them and not checked.
- Leg Up is not answerable for runners' behaviour, but can sanction them if they break the runner charter.
- You remain responsible for your designs, your messages and the way you use the photos.
- [LIABILITY CAP TO BE DEFINED].
14. Governing law and disputes
In short French law. We first try to agree; failing that, the courts of [CITY].
These terms are governed by French law. If we disagree, first write to Leg Up from the "Leg Up" section of your account or at bonjour@legup.run: we will look for an amicable solution. Failing that, the dispute goes to the competent courts of [CITY].
